Why we made this

We had one. We loved it. Then we couldn’t replace it.

For four years, we used a washable, reusable bag in our 13-gallon kitchen bin. The elastic top kept it looking neat, the handles made recycling easy to carry, and we could wash it whenever it needed cleaning.

We originally bought it because recycling in Washington, DC must be emptied loose—not left inside a plastic bag. But the bag became useful for much more than one city’s recycling rules. It was simply a better way to collect and carry household recycling.

When ours finally needed repair, we learned that the company that made it was no longer in business. We couldn’t find a replacement with the same clean fit, washable fabric, and useful handles. So we created BinAgain.

Common questions

Does the reusable bag go into the recycling bin?

No. The bag carries your recyclables to the collection bin or building recycling area. Empty the recyclables loose, then return the empty bag to your kitchen bin. Follow the recycling rules where you live.

Easy to carry

Short, sturdy handles make it easier to take recycling from the kitchen to your building’s recycling area.

Machine washable

Machine wash cold and air dry. High heat can shorten the life of the bag.

Dries quickly

The fabric is designed to air-dry quickly after washing, so the bag can get back to work sooner.

Rip-resistant

Durable fabric helps resist rips from cans, boxes, and everyday trips to the recycling area.
